C4IP-8: Mason role, working group grants

This proposal:

• Establishes $ARENA token grants for DAO contributors
• Creates the Mason role in order to create opportunities for anyone to contribute as a DAO member to helping build Code4rena
• Allocates retroactive grants for working group contributors
• Sets the $ARENA price for Q1 and Q2 for DAO contributor grants

Mason role

Masons are creators, builders, and generalists who want to contribute to the Code4rena DAO. Masons are awarded $ARENA token grants for their contributions.

In order to create a more secure and transparent crypto ecosystem, Masons are encouraged to participate in specific Code4rena Mason campaigns or to browse through current Code4rena outcomes, start Masonry discussions on how they’d like to contribute, build consensus around those initiatives, and make proposals.

Governance Bootstrapping Working Group grant

Over the course of several months, the governance bootstrapping working group navigated a variety of challenges and went down several routes before arriving at and developing a final plan.

The following are the proposed grant allocations for their contributors to this working group:

• hickuphh3 (planning, smart contract development, testing) -$15,000 worth of $ARENA
• cmichel (planning, smart contract development, code review, testing) - $10,000 worth of $ARENA
• tabish (smart contract development, token claim development, testing) - $5,000 worth of $ARENA
• dstaley (token claim development) - $5,000 worth of $ARENA
• gpersoon (planning, code review) - $3,000 worth of $ARENA
• SamusElderg (token claim improvements) - $3,000 worth of $ARENA
• ItsMeSTYJ (testing) - $3,000 worth of $ARENA

Judge Appointment Working Group grant

The judge appointment working group has been in operation since December. Members of this group are cmichel, gpersoon, and Alex the Entreprenerd.

Propose a grant of $1000 worth of $ARENA per month per member for Q1 and Q2.

Contribution evaluation

Code4 Corporation shall be assigned the responsibility of verifying sufficient contributions worthy of DAO grants.

ARENA price for Q1 and Q2

The following prices shall be used for DAO contributor grants:

• Q1: 1 $ARENA = $0.03 USD
• Q2: 1 $ARENA = $0.05 USD
