Percona provides a vague reference to monitoring cluster status through myq_gadgets. Expand on this to a complete page on how to implement and configure it, under the Monitor section of the User Guide.

This is worrying because... our documentation still refers to myq_gadgets (now, archived on github) https://galeracluster.com/library/documentation/managing-fc.html

And there is myq-tools now https://github.com/jayjanssen/myq-tools/

And do we continue recommending said tool? Percona has some information on this https://www.percona.com/doc/percona-xtradb-cluster/8.0/manual/monitoring.html but also a lot more on Percona Monitoring & Management (PMM) (we can have myq-tools documented, and then talk about Galera Manager)

What do you think @kirjaamo ?

myq_tools only has one tool, myq_status. If if it produces a similar output as in the screenshot below, maybe we could just change myq_gadgets -> myq_tools. The screenshot

After this, we could also talk about Galera Manager, but I don't know what say about it here.

Why are we still talking about something that isn't maintained any longer?

@byte So, is it enough to replace myq_gadgets -> myq_tools?

myq_tools is definitely what you should replace it with. But can we verify the commands work the same in the documentation?

@byte I cannot verify the commands work the same in the documentation. Would it be difficult for you to check this?

I cannot verify that the new version of myq-tools actually works with galera, despite it claiming to say it does. https://github.com/jayjanssen/myq-tools
