somehow connected to #324

i'd like to see a generic full-view-tile for c.cover that displays title, description and the full content and not only the body text.

this could be done with a similar approach as it's done within the "all content" folder view (folder_full_view).

i also would like a full-view-list tile, to display whole ct items within a listing.

i would be in creating such a tile, if i makes sense in that way within c.cover

or is such functionality hidden somewhere within c.cover?

I don't know if I understood well; could you please talk about your use case and elaborate a little bit more?

there's a new view for the cover content type that does something like that for the cover object itself: just select the Standard view in the menu (refs #271).

The standard view works for the whole page and doesn't influence the tile itself.

The content body tile just shows the body, there is no tile that shows the full object including title and description.
Same for the list tile, it shows only title and description and no body/content/text (example: for a blog like view).

There is also no configuration for either tile to make the display the full object.

Question: do we want/need a "full object" tile or will it be more usefull to allow the "full object" to be configured.

i would prefer a "full object tile/list-tile"

👎 for include such tile here; I think your use case is pretty specific.

+1 for full view tile from me. what's the problem with having such a tile in c.c?

Maybe this tile can replace the richtext tile.
But im not sure about this use case.
Looks to me that you are trying to use collective.cover to make complex layout for specific content types. Is that what you're planning?

it's just about displaying existing content with it's full information

+1 for agitator's issue. couldnt this be done by a checkmark 'show title' in the layout settings?

Full view for a specific content looks fine for me.
But Im not sure about ful view for list. I think this kind of thing need to be done in a colection, not in a front page.
Seens to me that you need to use colective.cover layout manager in a colection, not in a front page.

But I think we need more info to understand your specific use case. Please fell free to send us by mail any mockup, layout or anything else the help us to understand.

The start page of my Project has some kind of teaser for the main sections of the page, which are basically folders with a lead image and will be displayed as a carousel.
Followed by a bloglike list of the newest articles, where it shouldn't matter what type these articles are, therefore i don't wanna do a separate view for each type and want to use the folder_full_view kind of technique for the tileviews.
Followed by a gallery that displays for example team members.

... and it's all about reusing content.

seems to us this tile makes sense and should replace the contentbody tile in future releases; I think the tile needs to be configurable to allow users to hide title and description to comply with use case of contentbody tile also.

please feel free to open a new branch to work on this and don't forget to add tests and documentation.

I think your use case is covered by Mosaic now.
