can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC #4816

Description

I face this error when I got the lasest source of master branch

How to reproduce

I run configure as
./configure --prefix=dist/ --disable-shared --enable-static --enable-strip --CPPFLAGS=-fPIC

My env
Using built-in specs.

IMPORTANT: Always try to reproduce the issue on the latest released version (see https://github.com/confluentinc/librdkafka/releases), if it can't be reproduced on the latest version the issue has been fixed.
