Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") outlines the privacy practices for [Rideshare BPHC] ("the App"). This Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect the information provided by users of the App ("Users" or "you"). By using the App, you consent to the data practices described in this Policy.

  1. Information Collection and Usage
  • 1.1. User Credentials: The App does not store any user credentials outside the local storage of your device. We do not collect, transmit, or retain any login credentials outside the app.
  • 1.2. Communication with the Rideshare Backend: The App solely interacts with the Rideshare Backend using the API calls. The App retrieves data from the Rideshare Backend, such as rides, participants, and profile, and displays it to you within the App's user interface. All communication occurs directly between the App and the Rideshare Backend.
  1. Data Security
  • 2.1. Local Device Storage: The App may store certain data, such as user preferences and settings, locally on your device's storage. This data is solely used to enhance your user experience within the App and is not transmitted to us or any third parties.
  • 2.2. Encryption: We implement reasonable security measures to protect the data stored within the App and during communication with the Backend. However, please note that no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.
  1. Third-Party Services
  • 3.1. No Third-Party Involvement: The app uses Third-Party Services for UI enhancement but doesn’t share any information related to the users or their rides with these services.

  1. Children's Privacy: The App is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personal information from Children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so that we can take appropriate action.

  2. Changes to this Privacy Policy: We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes to this Policy will be effective immediately upon posting the revised version on the App. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically for any updates. Your continued use of the App after the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes.

  3. Delete your account: If you want to delete your account and all the information related to it please contact us at crux@hyderabad.bits-pilani.ac.in.
