WHY I want this project to have this feature

This would (a) increase the number of type hints in this project (which has a number of positive effects) and (b) save developer time.

HOW we might implement this feature

Add a docker-compose service to run mypy such that it will auto-gen type hints

Great idea! i dont know much about how to do this but type hints save much of the time.
