This option is already available in the Citations Pane "more" menu, and in the Item tree menu, but it doesn't do anything yet. When supported, add support for adding references to P2860 claims already existing in Wikidata (#29).

Another workaround would be using Crossref references available in OpenCitations' COCI. For example, for doi:10.1108/jd-12-2013-0166, copy the DOIs in the reference field of the response from https://opencitations.net/index/api/v1/metadata/10.1108/jd-12-2013-0166, and paste them to Cita's "Add citation(s) by identifiers".

As mentioned by @Dominic-DallOsto in #135, we may want to parse (#113) Crossref unstructuted_citation references (see here).

I'm really looking forward to the implementation of this feature, I think it'll start making Cita useful for myself! Currently there just don't seem to be enough citations in Wikidata. Keep up the good work!

Hi, all! I'm very well aware of @Dominic-DallOsto's pull requests, for this and other issues. I'm finishing my PhD thesis and I've been postponing this for weeks. Hopefully I'll be able to merge them as soon as I'm finished, mid December the latest. I'm sorry once again for the delays.

Thank you Dominic for all your contributions! Maybe we could have a chat soon and add you as a project maintainer if you'd be interested.

I'm still getting the message "Getting citations from Crossref not yet supported" in september 2023 (see photo). Is this feature still not supported? Or is it something that just doesn't work for me?

I have Zotero-verson 6.0.26
