As the CLI stands currently, it's not consumable outside the CLI interface. It needs to be usable, as an API by other systems.

API mode added in 2.2.0-SNAPSHOT. Used in the upgrade utilities. https://github.com/dstreev/cloudera_upgrade_utils/blob/master/hive-sre/README.md
