There Does Not Appear To Be A Way To Summarize The Current Open Document in Obsidian #9

I don't see any way to have Gemini answer questions about the current open document in Obsidian.

The chat window appears to be the only way to communicate with Gemini. Despite having prompts for summarize documents and selections, the only way to use them appears to be by copying and pasting them into the chat prompt and then they can't access any other open document. Even posting the Obsidian URL for a document into the chat box does not work.

Also, unlike an explanatory video I watched, the pre-created prompts do not appear as options in the chat window.

Also, Gemini says it can read uploaded PDFs and URL links, but the app does not appear to have any such capability. Interestingly, when I did send URL links to some HTML and PDF documents from my Google Drive, and asked Gemini to summarize them as a test, Gemini generated completely random summarizations of some other unknown documents.

So I must conclude that the only value of this app, relative to other Obsidian AI plugins, is to provide a simple chat interface with Gemini. Useful but inadequate. Other Obsidian AI apps like BMO Chatbot Plugin and Co-Pilot ChatGPT Interface Plugin can directly reference open documents or even the entire vault.
