[2.49] - 2024-10-28

Changed

  • Correct a problem that was triggering a runtime error on get_last from Streamline. Fix by John Buckman.

[2.48] - 2024-04-30

  • Fix bug that was raising a runtime error when opening DYE on first time app installs where a profile has never been defined (and so $::settings(profile_title) doesn't exist yet).
  • Fix bug that was raising a runtime error when opening or filtering on DYE History Viewer on first time app installs with no shot history. Reported by John Buckmann.
  • Fix bug when the skin was changed from another skin to DSx2 and then immediately after DYE plugin was enabled. This would run DYE main proc "as if under DSx2" but without DSx2 actually loaded, so would fail locating DSx2-only variables and raised a runtime error that it couldn't find ::skin_background_colour.

  • DYE Favs title max length reduced in 2 characters when appearing in button labels, as sometimes they were overflowing the button width.
  • Deleted extra unneeded "]" in Insight screensaver button command, which was producing a runtime error.
  • Refactoring of utility functions in the ::plugins::DYE namespace. New sub-namespaces created ::plugins::DYE::shots, plugins::DYE::ui. DSx2 pages moved from ::dui::pages namespace to ::plugins::DYE::pages namespace.

New

  • DYE Favorites buttons on DSx2 now have the same aspect as DSx2 buttons: the Fav type icon has moved inside the button, and a vertical line separates the icon from the label text.
  • Now when a favorite button is clicked, the color changes briefly to signal is has been clicked (like Streamline buttons).
  • Now when a favorite is loaded, its icon changes color to flag it has been selected. It is deselected automatically if any relevant piece of data for the Next shot changes.
  • Flush settings (time and flow) are now stored in Fixed favorites if "Workflow settings" are selected in "What to copy". Suggested by Matt Bower.
  • Shots done with profiles having beverage_type "cleaning" or "calibrate" are ignored when querying the recent favorites.

[2.41] - 2024-02-16

New

  • New dialog for beans and grinder selection from DSx2 espresso settings buttons. The new dialog slides from the right side of the page and allows selecting, searching, adding new values, and optionally propagating the last shot made with the beans to Next, or the last setting done with the grinder (matching beans if possible).
  • Grinder with non-numeric settings now accept a big_step field in their definitions, that should be a positive integer giving the number of steps to move up/down when clicking on the big change arrow buttons. Requested by Matt Bower.
  • On DSx2 settings page, if a grinder has no specification or it is invalid, revert to a text entry widget instead of just disabling it.

Changed

  • Headings and arrows for DYE inputs in DSx2 settings page reduced in size to match the DSx2 headings and arrows.
  • If source shot was exactly the last shot, workflow value was not showing on the source shot description in DSx2 home page after an app restart. Fixed.
  • Show DYE version in DYE Favs pages on bottom-right, instead of DSx2 version.

  • Now the 2 "older" ways of reading past shots definitions into the next shot ("Read from Selected Shot" into Next, and "Copy to Next") should behave like DYE Favorites: it's the target drink weight that propagates to next shot drink weight (not the actual in-cup yield anymore), and they update the source shot (but this is only visible on DSx2)
  • Fix bug introduced in previous version that made the shot data showing in the Fav editing page not being updated when changed the Fav type. Bug reported by Tuomas Välimäki.
  • Fix bugs that copying previous shot data into next shot data was not being properly reflected nor synchronized with the data shown on the home page of MimojaCafe. Bugs reported by Erik Jacobs.
  • Updated plugin description on the extensions page.

  • New settings file grinders.tdb stores the specification of each user grinder. It is initialized using data from the database. The spec is used for the grinder setting widget in DSx2 espresso setting page. A new namespace ::plugins::DYE::grinders created to group all grinder-related code.

  • Change how DYE icon on sleep screensavers is shown/hidden.
  • Users can redefine where the DYE icon on screensavers is placed on each skin, in case it conflicts with other buttons. Just define "_sleep_describe_button_coords" (a 4-coordinates list) in the DYE settings file.
  • Propagation mechanism for drink_weight modified as target_drink_weight is available. Last shot target is what is now propagated into next shot drink.
  • Change series names from skin_espresso_temperature_basket to espresso_temperature_basket10th and skin_espresso_temperature_goal to espresso_temperature_goal10th in DSx2 graph resetting, as the new ones have been added by John and the older ones will no longer be supported by DSx2.

  • Favorite buttons now show a small icon on their right side to indicate the type of favorite.
  • Improve favorite example data descriptions:
    • Don't show the data that is not to be copied.
    • Show "<blank>" when it is to be copied but it is actually empty.
    • Better descriptors for Workflow & Profile.
  • Improved validation of favorites:
    • "Title" is required for fixed favorites, and can't be duplicated within fixed favorites.
    • "What to copy?" section requires at least one item enabled.
    • Copy Workflow Settings disables Copy Workflow (and sets it to true)
    • Copy Profile renamed to "Disk Profile" and "Full Profile" renamed to "Shot Profile", and they are mutually exclusive.

  • Fix bug that was showing brackets in recent-type favorites auto-title in the Edit Favorite page.
  • Fix runtime error when saving a fav changed from fixed to recent. Reported by Matt Bower.

  • Recent-type favorites now are properly updated when a shot finishes. Reported by Nic on Discord.
  • Change color of Next & Last shot descriptions on DSx2 home, as well as the "..." DYE Favs expansion button and some DYE page titles. They were not visible with dark themes. Reported by Matt Bower on Diaspora.
  • Items of example data when editing a recent DYE fav were lists instead of strings (appeared between brackets). Corrected.

New

  • DYE Favorites. Inspired on DSx2 Favorites, DYE Favorites of type "recent" remember up the last 12 combinations of beans/profile/grinder/DSx2_workflow (at user choice) used and can copy the last shot done with each combination to the next shot definition.

  • Integration with Damian's new DSx2 skin:

    • New DSx2 theme to show DYE pages using a color palette consistent with DSx2 current theme. Code kindly contributed by Eran Yaniv.

    • DYE Favorites can (at user choice) be used instead of DSx2 favorites on DSx2 default home page (Damian theme):

      • One-click instant swap between recently used beans (or beans/profile/grinder/DSx2_workflow combinations, at user choice)

      • Tap on the "..." below the favorites bar on the right to get to the new DYE Favorites page.

      • Tap on the pencil close to any favorite on the DYE Favorites page to open the new DYE Favorite Edit page.

    • Last and Next shot descriptions can be shown on DSx2 default home page (Damian theme), below the chart, at user choice, and they link to the main DYE page for editing its metadata. Changes on DSx2 espresso settings variables such as dose, yield, or profile, are reflected inmediately in these descriptions as well as in DYE pages, and viceversa.

    • DSx2 workflow is now stored with shot data in DYE/SDB and can be propagated to the next shot when using DSx2 from any previous shot done with DSx2.

    • New settings page for DSx2 user options, linked from DYE main settings page.

  • Fix a couple of bugs that could produce runtime errors when using DYE on fresh new DE1 app installs (without any shots) or when the DE1 app settings file had been removed, as reported by Paul Chan.

  • Added setting reset_next_plan to auto-clear the next shot plan data after pulling each shot. It is exposed in the DYE settings page and can only be enabled when propagation is disabled. Should handle the workflow/use case presented by Bob Stern.
  • New setting date_input_format, exposed in the DYE settings page, can take values "MDY", "DMY" or "YMD", with "MDY" as default. Replaces the previous date_input_formats. It is initialized to the closest matching format of the first item in date_input_formats, if it exists. Setting date_input_formats is removed.
  • New setting roast_date_format defines how to show the roast date after it's entered.

  • Read from previous now ignores zero-valued fields for determining blank shots.
  • Profiles imported from Visualizer whose title already include a folder ("<folder>/<profile_name>") now get the correct title ("Visualizer/<profile_name>"). Reported by Ricco Rosini.
  • New more user-friendly roast date parser, using the new date settings. Allows entering partial dates (only day or day+month), using any field separator (spaces, hyphens, dashes...), month numbers or 3-letter abbreviations, full or abbreviated years ("21" or "2021"), and adding extra text after the date (e.g. "21/12/2021 Roast 2") while still correctly parsing the date for computing days off-roast.
  • Update DYE page calculated/derived fields (days off-roast, enable/disable grinder setting, TDS) when data is cleared or imported.

[2.21] - 2021-12-05

New

  • The Visualizer dialog, when on the next shot plan, now allows downloading any of the "Recently selected shots" in Visualizer. A summary of the shots is shown when the "Shared" option is selected.

Changed

  • Selecting shots in the Shot Selector dialog now works correctly irrespective of the values of settings variables use_finger_down_for_tap and disable_long_press.
  • Filtering shots in the Shot Selector by a search string is now performed in Tcl instead of passing it to SQLite like in previous versions. This is done because SQLite cannot perform case-insensitive searches on concatenated fields on the tablet build of Androwish (whereas on PC it works). This also improves responsiveness, but has the drawback that the search is performed only on the subset of shots downloaded in current filter and within the maximum number of rows (currently 500).
  • Selection of shots in the Shot Selector when the preview panel is collapsed is now slightly faster, as the summary info is now not written to the preview Tk Text panel when not needed.

  • New "Manage" button and matching dialog page dye_managed_dlg with menus to delete shots, export shots, view profiles, and go to the DYE settings page.
  • Shots can be deleted from the history. They are actually moved to subfolder de1plus/bin, which is created if it doesn't exist, and flagged with removed=1 in the SDB database, so the removal can be manually undone.
  • Shots can be exported to formats "Tcl .shot" (really just copied from de1plus/history to the target folder), CSV (only the main chart series), and JSON v2. The user is given the choice of format and destination path, which defaults to de1plus/history/export.
  • New dialog to view profiles in a text form for any past shot or the currently selected one (through the "Plan next shot"). The dialog also gives the option to apply the profile to the next shot.
  • Improve profile importing (command plugins::DYE::import_profile), now can be done from a shot or an array, plus the GUI is properly updated for the type of profile, and also it is ensure that it is sent to the DE1 in case an espresso is started immediately from the GHC. This works both for local history and Visualizer imports.

  • New dialog page dye_which_shot_dlg shows a menu of main DYE actions (plan next shot, describe last shot, select shot, search shot and go to DYE settings). It is launched by long tapping the DYE icons/labels in Insight & DSx.
  • New setting relative_dates makes DYE show shot dates relative to today (e.g. "25 minutes ago", "Yesterday at 07:55", or "4 days ago at 12:01"). This can be modified either on the DYE settings page, or tapping on DYE page title.
  • Show "days off-roast" near the "Roast date" field, whenever the roast date can be parsed as a date. Input format can be modified by manually editing the new setting input_date_formats, which is a list of valid formats accepted by clock scan. Each format is tried from the first to the last until a parsing raises no error.
  • Shot output date/time format can now also be user-modified through the new settings date_output_format, time_output_formatand time_output_format_ampm.

[2.13] - 2021-10-26

New

  • The "Edit data" dialog in the DYE page now allows selecting to which block of data any of the edit actions have to be applied, including the new option "Profile" that imports profiles from past shots. The profile option is only enabled on the "Next" shot plan.
  • The "Browse" section in the Visualizer dialog now changes to "Download by code" on the "Next" shot plan, and allows to download shots of any user from Visualizer. This is only available with the new version 1.2 of the visualizer_upload extension, and only works with shots recently uploaded to Visualizer (as the profile was not kept in previous versions).

  • When the propagation subtitle is "Shot not saved to history", it is now shown in error (usually red, depends on theme) color.
  • Prevent runtime errors and log warnings when DYE is launched on a brand new DE1app install with no shots on the history.

  • Last & next shot summary description variables last_shot_desc and next_shot_desc are now stored in DYE settings instead of being namespace variables, so they persist. This prevents the error of showing an empty last_shot_desc when restarting the app after v2.08 changes.

  • DSx link to open last shot desc in DYE now launches DYE even if the last shot was not saved to history.

  • Corrected a few bugs introduced by the refactoring of the last/next shot descriptions in v2.08 (reported by JoeD, Robert Jordan & TMC):

    • Next shot description was not being saved
    • Next shot summary string was not being updated when propagating last shot data (only visible in DSx)
    • Field "espresso_notes" was not being saved/loaded in next shot description in some scenarios.
