Explorer is empty after switching to che-theia:next

Describe the bug

I have a workspace with persisted storage type and several projects imported. When I'm switching from che-theia:7.28 to che-theia:next the projects explorer is empty.
che-theia:7.28 has the multi-root mode off, by default
che-theia:next has the multi-root mode on, by default

Expected behavior

Project explorer should display the projects' structure in single- or multi-root mode depending on what mode is a default one in a specific Che-Theia version.

Runtime
