We need traefik plugins functionality to implement new nativeUserMode #20070. This is supported from Traefik version 2.5.

Describe the solution you'd like

Update traefik version to 2.5. Currently there is only v2.5.0-rc2 so we will have to wait for final release.

For development we can use RC image (https://hub.docker.com/layers/traefik/library/traefik/v2.5.0-rc2/images/sha256-964c30609ba0c8bb3134cb4c7adc798944b20dc7bc0c3782055c3e02405bb4a9?context=explore).

If it is easy to update our traefik image, I would even update it into the v2.5.0-rc2, because we could then easily use it in release. nativeUserMode is experimental anyway.

latest traefik v2.5-rc2 is in our quay https://quay.io/repository/eclipse/che--traefik?tag=latest&tab=tags and is used for nativeUserMode eclipse-che/che-operator#938. To use it whole Che, we're still waiting for stable version 2.5 of Traefik.

che is now on traefik v2.5.0
