There have been a few requests for a chat-channel for J2V8. We (at EclipseSource) have a public chat channel for Tabris.js, we could piggy-back on that. The advantage is that it's already up and running and there is nothing to do.

I don't mind, even better to use chat that you reachable at.

I would not mind either way, anything that lets us communicate more directly when it is needed is an improvement over spamming the PR comments 🤣 👍

What platform is the Tabris channel on / how could we use it ? @irbull

I think this is not a good idea. It would immediate go against separation of concerns and pollute J2V8 discussion with (I don't know how much) tabris-related chatter. J2V8 was to be an independent core module, right?
Also there are already other products on top of J2V8. Will they also bring their product-related talk into the mix?

Freenode and gitter are easy to set up and you can keep a freenode channel in sync with gitter and vice versa. See for example: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=dat

Both freenode and gitter are, I think, the most used chat solutions for dev teams in oss world.

If J2V8 project is going to be improved, better do it good, not half. Also this goes against good OSS principles, IMHO.
