Space Empires V is a 4X game created by Aaron Hall of Malfador Machinations and published by Strategy First. It was released in 2006, and introduced 3D graphics to the Space Empires series. It also introduced many more modding features, some of which we have incorporated into FrEee. However, the game was not coded to as high a quality standard as Space Empires IV, and the stock mod was highly unbalanced, leading to a less than stellar reception by fans.
