White Images Barely Visible on Fullscreen View

If I click on a white image, it doesn't show up very well in the fullscreen overlay. It'd be nice if I could change the overlay background color or opt into a checkered background.

I'm not entirely sure we want to solve this issue, but since @miukimiu is in this code currently I figured I may as well ping her to see if she has any ideas. #2287

FWIW, this is an old issue and we no longer use this overlay in Canvas. The image is just immediately added to the workpad.
