On Clicking 'Add data' link under Analytics tab appropriate message is not displayed when user have no access to Integrations. #116265

Kibana version:* 7.16 BC1 Kibana cloud-qa environment

Browser version: Chrome
Host OS: Windows 10.

Preconditions:

  1. 7.16 BC1 Kibana cloud-qa environment should be available.

Build Details:

  1. User Account with a role that has "Fleet and integrations" set to "None".

Steps to reproduce:

  • Login to Kibana with pre-requisite user account.
  • Navigate to Home> Analytics tab page.
  • Click on Link "Add data" in right top corner of page.
  • Observe, error message shown is not appropriate and conveying.

Expected Result: Message should be similar what is displayed under Security Overview> add Data link which is more understandable.

This appears to be fixed, tested on 8.1.0

Hi @joshdover

We have revalidated this issue on the latest 8.2.0-SNAPSHOT build and observed that the issue is fixed. Please find below the testing details:

  • Correct message shows on accessing Analytics tab now when user have none rights to Fleet and Integrations.
