Make side bar “expanded state” persistent #43019

Describe the feature:
Currently, if I click on “expand side bar” icon, side bar is expanded ; but if click on any other Kibana app (or if I refresh my browser page), side bar is collapsed again.

So It would be great that expanded state is persistent, when I click on another Kibana app or if I refresh browser page.

Describe a specific use case for the feature:
Kibana has now numerous apps, and so, numerous tabs on side bar.
Lots of people do not know app icons by heart. So, without “persistent expanded side bar”, it is really not easy to retrieve a specific app in side bar and globally navigate through Kibana apps fluently.
It is painful to click “expand icon” each time that user wants to change app to retrieve the app (because he doesn’t know the icon)

Hi @alexh97

It seems that this issue is fixed by #43916 PR, with the “lock” button on the side bar, that saves the “expanded” state in the local storage.
Thus, this PR is merged and planned for 7.4.

So do I close this issue?
