Kibana version: 7.11.1

Elasticsearch version: 7.11.1

Server OS version: Elastic Cloud

Browser version: Chrome

Describe the bug:

I've had a ton of times that I think the time selector is gone on Kibana's discover page.

I suspect the behavior is intentional, but it catches me off guard quite frequently.

I'll be flipping around tabs and whatnot, forgetting that I've left focus in the query bar, then go hunting for the time selector.

When you take focus away from the query bar it comes back, but it's kind of confusing that it hides entirely.

So I thought I'd file it as a "usability" bug.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Load kibana
  2. Focus the query bar (either click then hit escape, or tab to it)
  3. Try to find the time selector

Expected behavior:

Time selector stays visible or at least generally noticeable.
