Users may have different microphones with different levels of sensitivity (headset / laptop / dedicated webcam / near field / far field / etc) and varying levels of background noise. An optional push-to-talk mode (and the ability for moderators or privileged users to force push-to-talk mode for all participants on a call) would mitigate this for video conferencing with many people, rather than asking everyone to mute and unmute repeatedly.

I think we can cover push to talk more in depth in #218. There are a lot of other feature requests in here. Would you mind breaking them out into other issues?
