Infinite grey spinner, coupled with UISIs

Steps to reproduce

1. Where are you starting? What can you see?

I was using the app relatively okay, but after a gap of a few hours (during which the phone was on airplane mode for some of the time), it failed to recover - grey spinner on all rooms, and UISIs in many rooms. I could still send/receive messages okay however (modulo UISIs), and in one room the grey spinner eventually went again,

Outcome

What did you expect?

No grey spinner, no UISI.

What happened instead?

Grey spinner forever, intermittent UISIs.

I've investigated the rageshake logs, seems duplicate of #5426. Closing this now, the fix will be available in the next release, feel free to reopen if the issue continues.
