Click on "Send a direct message"

Clicking on "Create a group chat"

Suggestions

We re-map the destination of those call to actions

1. "Send a direct message" opens the new spotlight experience with the "People" filter selected
2. "Explore public rooms" opens the new spotlight experience with the "Public rooms" filter selected
3. "Create a group chat" opens the direct messages dialog
