When creating a new task in a CalDAV task list, without a due date I get the error:
Adding task failed
The task list registry may be unavailable or unable to be written to.
Cannot create calendar object: Failed to put data: HTTP error code 403 (Forbidden): Can't parse as DATE-TIME value in DUE property. Removing entire property: 00000000T000000[valid-calendar-data][responsedescription]
Other Details
my caldav server is caldav.fastmail.com
I'm logged into CalDAV in Evolution and it seems to show in Tasks
I'm using Manjaro
I view all my tasks fine, and can create tasks with dates without issue
Open Tasks and see all the task-list enabled calendars with their tasks.
Type in "Some Task w/o Date" the text field above the list of tasks
Press Enter
Expected Behavior
I believe a task (with out a due date) should be created.

I think this can be an issue with FastMail. I'm having the same issue and even Planner seemed to having issues adding tasks. Don't think FastMail supports CalDav tasks.
