Hello. Thanks for mentioning this API change.

I'm aware of the removal of this API. But at the moment I have no plans to release changes to this repository in its current state. On my personal computer, I have developments for a completely new implementation of this library and there will be no deprecated methods there.

For now, I’ll leave this issue open so that others can find that this method is broken.
