Thanks for opening this issue. I'd love to see first class support for object-based traversal in some incarnation. I know several users of restish that want to move to Python 3, and I think if we can do it right (see my Mailman 3 falcon port branch for a starting point), we can recommend falcon as the replacement for restish.

We just need need to decide if this belongs in the core framework or would be better as an add-on package.

I think I actually tried to post my implementation on the mailing list but I don't know if it made it through. We have it working in Mailman 3.1 and it's wonderful!
