FAQ
Q: Why is Telegram Chat Importer (TLImporter) slow?
Telegram has its own flood limitations that will limit the speed of this process. Also, your connection might be a huge bottleneck.
Q: What are those flood limits?
In order to prevent excesive stress on their systems, spammers, flooders and other kind of abusers, Telegram does have limitations in the number of messages/minute one user can send. As Telegram Chat Importer will send messages between the logged accounts at really high speed, these limits will be reached. You know, it isn't that normal to send like 5000 messages in 2 minutes. That means that, if you reach this limitation on Telegram's side, you will be unable to send messages temporarily with your account in a short period of time (normally 5 minutes).
Those limits doesn't have anything to do with spam limitations and you won't be banned and anything like that! Think of it as a traffic light in a traffic jam. If there is too much traffic in your lane and there is a traffic jam in the rest of the lanes, they will close your lane so that the cars in other lanes can continue to circulate as well. Once the traffic normalizes in all the lanes, the traffic will return to normal.
Therefore, it is something temporary.
Q: What happens if I get flood limited while importing a chat?
Telegram Chat Importer will take care of that automatically. It will report you the following message: Flood limits reached. Waiting for 00:05:20. The app will resume it's tasks automatically. So, whenever you are flood limited, you don't need to worry: Telegram Chat Importer will take care of that itself.
Q: How do I report bugs, do questions...?
Any issue, or question, please open a new issue. Describe the steps you did before getting an issue, or a precise description of what you really want to do, in case you get lost. Otherwise, I won't be able to help you.
