1st Challenge

Business Problem

Customers need an integrated solution within their banking application to manage investments efficiently. They are currently using separate platforms to manage their bank accounts and investment portfolios, resulting in continuous transaction fees and an overall fragmented and time-consuming experience.

Proposed Solution

Integrate a trading feature within the banking application that will allow customers to manage their investments, providing a seamless experience for monitoring and executing trades.

1. Integration with traderX Data API

   Viewing & Monitoring Investment Opportunities: Integrate the traderX Data API to access real-time market data, such as: interest rates, yields, maturity dates, and historical performance data of available short-term financial instruments, enabling informed investment decisions.

2. Integration with traderX Trading API

   Trading: Integrate the traderX Trading API to facilitate the purchasing and selling of short-term financial instruments directly from the banking application, ensuring all transactions are at current market prices and are to and from the customers personal bank account; allowing users to manage their portfolio in real-time.

2nd Challenge

Business Problem

As a CFO, you need to ensure your company's excess cash is not sitting idle. You seek to generate returns by investing in short-term financial instruments, but manual analysis of market conditions and constant monitoring of investment opportunities is time-consuming and prone to human error.

Proposed Solution: AI Agents

1. Integration with traderX Data API:

   • The AI Agent 1 connects to traderX's Data API to access real-time market data, including: Interest rates for various short-term instruments (e.g., Treasury bills, commercial paper, money market funds); Yields and maturity dates of available instruments; Historical performance data for risk assessment.

2. AI-Driven Investment Strategy:

   • The AI Agent 2 leverages advanced algorithms (e.g., reinforcement learning) to analyze the incoming market data.
   • It considers factors such as: Current and projected interest rates; Risk tolerance based on the company's financial profile; The need for liquidity (i.e., how quickly the funds might be needed for operations).
   • The agent develops an optimized investment strategy, determining the optimal allocation of funds across different short-term instruments.

3. Automated Execution via traderX Trading API:

   • The AI Agent 3 connects to traderX's Trading API to automatically execute trades based on the calculated strategy.
   • It can place buy and sell orders, monitor positions, and adjust the portfolio as market conditions change.

4. Continuous Monitoring and Reporting:

   • The AI Agent 4 continuously monitors the performance of the investments and generates reports for the CFO.
   • It provides insights into realized returns, projected returns, and potential risks

We have just announced the FINOS Tech Sprint 2024, starting today and running until September 30 (OSFF New York), when developers will be able to showcase their work in front of our members and community; throughout the summer, we will organize in-person events for developers to meet, align and discuss; it's also an opportunity for FINOS Project Leads to deliver some talks around technologies involved. The first in-person event is on July 16th, New York.

@janfernandosmoothstack thanks for updating it. It sounds good to me. You envision a sort of "robinhood", i.e. a bank app that enables end users check prices and execute. Yes, "my" challenge could be a "stage 2" challenge (@aikarjal fyi)
