Likely regression caused by #54585. Looking into it now.
It looks like the near blur transition section is getting darkened. The band gets wider but fainter if transition is increased and it gets narrower and sharper when the transition is decreased.

Issue description
DoF Near Blur has a rendering artifact.
It doesn't affect 3.5 beta 5. Far blur is unaffected.
Steps to reproduce
Look through a camera, enable DOF Near Blur, and adjust the distance. It's obvious.
