Custom championship needs constant saving

By simply selecting a custom championship within CM Content / Miscellaneous now requires a save without any modifcation to the custom championship. In fact, by simply opening CM at the above location will require a save to whatever championship is preselected. This is new and very annoying. I'd like to know whether anyone else might be experiencing this. Using latest version of CM. Thanks!
