Description

I have over a dozen Athena databases that I'd like to consolidate as part of a terraform re-factorization from independent workspaces to a unified workspace. However, the aws_athena_database resource does not support importing, which has stopped my refactor project.

I'm requesting the addition of import support to the aws_athena_database resource.

New or Affected Resource(s)

  • aws_athena_database

Potential Terraform Configuration

resource "aws_athena_database" "database" {
  name   = var.database_name
  bucket = module.results_bucket.bucket.bucket
  encryption_configuration {
    encryption_option = "SSE_KMS"
    kms_key           = local.kms_key_arn
  }
}
terraform import -var-file my.tfvars 'module.databases["my_key"].aws_athena_database.database' db_my_key
