Hi All,

The survey_foot is being deprecated on December 31, 2022. It is being deprecated in favour of the international foot or simply, foot. This will affect the definition of all dependent units in the USCSLengthSurvey group. I haven't definitively determined if any other units outside of the group have transient dependencies on the definition of survey_foot.

A Federal Register Notification has been issued to solicit comments.

My proposal is to update pint to include both definitions for this transitionary period. At some point after the transition is complete, the survey_foot based units could be removed.

survey_foot = 1200 / 3937 * meter = sft

I've also missed the opportunity to make a pun in the issue title.

NIST seems to have done a better job than me:

Thanks for getting this done! If you're ever in SF I'll buy you a pint.
