The problem

This is a long standing issue that was apparently fixed by bumping python miio, but it's still occurring for me.

HA has an interface that is on the IOT subnet, so the devices are able to talk locally, unsure why this is happening.

#82601
rytilahti/python-miio#422

The following line is repeated many times in HA core logs:

2023-09-22 12:57:54.472 ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.xiaomi_miio] Error fetching Mi Purifier 3H data: Unable to discover the device [REDACTED PURIFIER IP]

I think I found a fix, but nobody is going to like it...

Once I enabled internet access for the purifier, both the WiFi reconnects and the error logs in HA stopped, how about that...

I'm experiencing the same issue

In addition to the blips, I have to reauthenticate about once a week, possibly nees to open separate thread if I figure out how.

same here but with a different device :xiaomi bedroom light (only 1 of 2 that I have in my bedroom). Very strange.

I did not updated fw in years and devices are behind firewall rules that cut internet connection

2024-02-22 19:29:26.105 ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.xiaomi_miio.light] Got exception while fetching the state: Unable to discover the device 192.168.2.15

this message is going over and over. Maybe increassing polling time?

This issue seems to have been resolved in recent updates. I'm no longer experiencing this issue myself. Two 3H purifiers have stayed connected for several months now. Thank you devs. 👍

@lukaslabryszewski you're using the core mi integration? Not xiaomi miiot auto? And you have no blips in history?

I'm using the Xiaomi Miio integration.

No more disconnects where I have to re-authenticate. It also could be due to me resetting the purifier so that I can use non-official filters without the RFID tag. I'm not sure if it's related, I just thought about it now although I've done it last November so I don't think it's related.
