Has any testing been done on RHEL flavor of platforms? I am looking to stand this up against our sterling environment that we are building. I have gone ahead and forked your project and will most likely spend some time Monday testing against RHEL 6.7.

As this is a new project I would look at naming it ibm-mq instead. This would put it more in line with other MQ cookbooks and make it easier to find. I do have another question. Will this become the "official" IBM supported cookbook as it further develops? If so I am sure my company would be interested in allowing me to help provide feature/functionality.
