Loading Models
A variety of model types can be loaded onto selected actors, including NPCs, monsters, minions, and props. Below are brief explanations of each category:
-
NPC: Named characters within the game that use mostly or fully regular assets (eg. Y'shtola). Entities designated as an NPC are best be loaded onto your character or a Carbuncle, to avoid losing some of their unique attributes when going into GPose (eg. special tattoos that aren't part of a head mesh, custom eye glow colours, etc.). Given NPCs use player-equippable items, they can be treated in much the same way as
.chara
files, and as such are covered more in depth on the Loading and Saving Character Files page. - Character: Characters that appear as NPCs but are actually considered monsters within the game (eg. Gaia).
- Mount: Mounts obtained through various means.
- Minion: Minions obtained through various means.
- Effect: Enemy effects that appear in the game as separate entities, usually in boss fights.
- Monster: Overworld mobs, adds in battles, beast tribes, basically anything that doesn't use a humanoid skeleton.
- Modded: Usually used in conjuction with modded minions, Anamnesis will filter entities that have been modded by reading your TexTools modlist.
- Unknown: Entities that have yet to be properly categorised. Please read Contributing to the Model List for more information.
After selecting the actor to be transformed, simply click on the Load Other
button to bring out the Model flyout. From here you can filter out which entities you'd like to choose from. You can also search for models by name using the search bar at the top of the flyout.
Models can only be loaded onto an actor outside of GPose.
❗️ Note: Some models will require their
Type
to be changed in order to appear correctly. Entities that have had their category updated properly will automatically change as needed. However, due to the model list being edited manually as opposed to other components like gear and appearances, some models will still need to have their type and potentially some gear changed manually to match. Please read Contributing to the Model List for more information.
The list of models used by Anamnesis is manually maintained as it cannot be pulled out of the game at this stage. A Google Spreadsheet has been set up to crowdsource updates, and can be contributed to by anyone.
The first sheet has a brief explanation on how to fully set out contributions. If you are thinking of contributing, please ensure you read this sheet in full.
All contributors will be credited.
