When the luv.pstore-tests parameter is added , we reboot via kexec and perform the pstore post reboot tests. However, we do not see the splash screen on reboot, all we see is the linux boot penguins and a blinking cursor, which may lead someone to think that the system has hung.
The offending commit is 7e37d58 "device-manager: use device timeout instead of udev coldplug monitor" . For now we have reverted this commit as a way to bypass this issue. We need to take a closer look at this to find the real root cause and more elegant fix.
