Background
This repo hasn't been accurate for awhile now for what's coming in the IPFS project, but there is nothing better at the moment. The repo is what you get if you search for "ipfs roadmap".
In late 2020, this repo was doing well (blog), but it lost momentum in early 2021 amongst early 2021 organization changes and priority shifts within Protocol Labs. PL didn't execute on the things related to that late 2020 roadmapping effort (as evidenced by issues that are still open and not triaged). This understandably led to IPFS community confusion and folks asking for updates.
Goal of this issue
IPFS is bigger than one company or implementation. We want to start providing a space for IPFS implementers and influencers to start making it clear what is happening so interested parties to follow along. While it's understandably a disappointment that the iPFS project didn't accomplish the roadmapping effort in late 2020, the most useful thing that can be done for the community is to be accurate about what is happening.
