Movie does not play with Roku "Playback error" #2048

  • Jellyfin Server Version: 10.10.1
  • Roku Client Version: 2.2.3

Describe the bug

I have 2 similar movies with same audio and video codecs. The only difference is in the bit rates. The first one plays fine on a Roku 2 (4200X) with transcoding, but the second movie does not. When I hit play for that one, the screen goes black, then I see a Roku "Playback error" message only for a split-second, then it goes back to the Jellyfin movie list view.

Both movies plays fine on a Roku Ultra (4800X) with direct play.

I thought it would be related to this other issue but why would it affect only one of the movies? Could the difference in audio bit rate (256 vs 384) be the cause?
