For some situations, it would be desirable to disable the automatic ID namespacing in shape SVGs (e.g. when one wants to animate the sprite). See #26 for details.

Configurable ID namespacing implemented with svg-sprite/svg-sprite@e62e79f. New releases scheduled for later today.

As of release v1.0.6 grunt-svg-sprite now supports configuration if ID namespacing.
