Forcing Shinelink to resolve to Grott results in repeating reboots of Shinelink

Asking my question here because I don't know any better place.
My set-up is as follows:
Shinelink is resolving server-au.growatt.com but:

• I forced my network firewall to redirect ALL port 53 (DNS) requests to my AdGuard server, so even if a device (which Shinelink does) goes rogue and does not use the DNS setting I set (it will go back to 8.8.8.8), either manually or through DHCP, it will still be forced to AdGuard.
• I set AdGuard to always respond my local grott server (192.168.10.x) ip as the address for server-au.growatt.com.

Of course I do not want my device phoning home to some chinese (owned) server.

This behaviour seems to be recent, as in I could easily point my Shinelink to the grott server manually in the past, but if I do that now without taking the above measures, it will reset itself and phone home to growatt again, and I don't get the statistics in HomeAssistant anymore.

But with the measures I've taken above, the Shinelink keeps rebooting after a few seconds. So either way I can't seem to get the statistics into HomeAssistant anymore.

Any insight/help is much appreciated.
