textinput clear button observations

I really like the clear button option, but ...

1. the clear buttons are part of the tab-order. Is there a way to prevent this?
2. instead of just setting data-clear-btn="true" it would be nice to be able to choose an icon
3. the standard callback clearing the input is nice, but getting a "clear" event would make things much more flexible ...
