benefits of making kalkun like twitter with user page

Last year i had suggested that we should have twitter like facility on kalkun where user sends sms to kalkun number and his sms is displayed on kalkuns public page made for user.

we can also add oauth support to it and users update can be posted to twitter (if needed by user)..

there are advantages in this case.

1. by opening up user profile page, you can add multiple ads on it and get your costs covered, those users who want to share content with public will find it convenient.
2. Twitter has special number for sending/receiving sms updates that varies across countries..users need to pay extra for this facility. once users get registered on kalkun, they should be able to send sms on kalkuns number, ie local number thus saving some amount of talktim

Are this includes Follow/ Unfollow and Timeline activity?

timeline activity is nothing but sms sent by user that are displayed publicly.

we dont need follow-unfollow stuff as it needs extra coding and people tend to think it as popularity contest..

however, we should have some comment system for interactivity.

posting comments will require kalkun account or twitter oauth account..it depends on how you find comfortable as main coder and admin. comment notification can be sent to author using email or sms on his registered number.

If there is no timeline screen, how other user noticed if there's a new "post" from certain user?

i havent used recent kalkun so i dont know what changes are made to original kalkun..

when a user logs in kalkun, he should have option to make his sms either open for public or private..

when he selects 'open for public', then everyone can see his sms sent to kalkuns number. it will be displayed as - http://kalkun.com/user.

so this format - http://kalkun.com/index.php?user=12345?timeline=true will help and that will be the timeline or public viewing of users sms.

those twitter sms having keyword tw may or may not be displayed on users timeline.
