Asset package structure?

Our assets currently have the following file structure:

$ tar tf kcp_0.8.0_darwin_amd64.tar.gz
LICENSE
README.md
bin/kcp

$ tar tf kubectl-kcp-plugin_0.8.0_darwin_amd64.tar.gz
LICENSE
README.md
bin/kubectl-kcp
bin/kubectl-ws
bin/kubectl-workspaces

Would it make sense to enclose all the files in a directory, e.g. kcp-0.8.0 and kubectl-kcp-plugin-0.8.0?
