Proposal

  • I would like to propose the ability to specify metadata or metadata.annotations within the scaleTargetRef field in KEDA. This would allow users to add metadata or annotations directly to the target resource being scaled, enhancing flexibility and control in custom configurations and integrations.

Use-Case

This feature would be particularly useful when the same scaling rule applies to multiple deployments with different names. Having a metadata field would enable KEDA to trigger scaling based on shared metadata across these deployments, without relying solely on the deployment name.

Is this a feature you are interested in implementing yourself?

No

This seems related to #4188 - contrary to a regex, having labels or metadata annotations seems like a more controlled way to control what gets picked up right?
