The following code will not fail at compile time, but rather at runtime will cause a stack overflow exception:

peg::parser! {
    grammar stackoverflow() for str {
        rule inner() -> String = s:test() {s}
        rule test() -> String = precedence! {
            x:(@) "+" y:@ {
                format!("+ ({}{})", x, y)
            }
            --
            f:inner() {f}
        }
        pub rule parseIt() -> String = s:test() {s}
    }
}

fn main() {
    stackoverflow::parseIt("x+y");
}
