Gateway API and response merging (2 JSON responses from 2 services to one)

Hello, as the name suggests, I am looking for a API Gateway that can merge responses from two services into one.

We have looked at KrakenD and we like the solution. But that is not a Kubernetes-native solution.

And it made me wonder...

• I know that Gateway API currently has no specification/support for this feature
• Writing custom microservice is not a path we want to go down, since such "merge endpoints" are per customer basis and this would get quickly out of hand

Is there any way, that such feature can work with Kubernetes Gateway API, is it perhaps being considered?

Currently, it feels like that Gateway API is solving problems, that are more technical and "in Kubernetes", but not such a use case on application level.

I am not sure, if any Gateway API implementations supports this, but in general I do not think so. But I might be wrong.
