Meta-Issue: Cross-platform controller configuration and autoconfig file generation issues

This meta-issue aims to consolidate and track various severe controller configuration issues across different platforms and distribution methods for RetroArch that makes it unstable. Addressing these issues will improve the process of configuring and uploading autoconfig files to the retroarch-joypad-autoconfig repository.

IMPORTANT

These issues are extremely important to fix, because they cause people to upload incorrect autoconfig files.

• Nintendo Switch Pro Controller (non-HID) cannot bind screenshot button with the sdl2 controller driver RetroArch#16997
• Complete "[IMPORTANT feature request] Support input_device_display_name_alt variables" RetroArch#16995
• Nintendo Switch Pro Controller+Linux 5.15 (non-HID) does not register thumb sticks RetroArch#16905
• Linuxraw in Ubuntu MATE 24.04 identifies Sony DualSense and Sony Dualshock 4 v2, but not Nintendo Switch Pro Controller RetroArch#16910

Google TV

• Google TV: Touchpad cursor visible in the main GUI of the OS, but not in RetroArch RetroArch#16853

Desktop

• 'Save Controller Profile' falsely reports successful save when no modifications have been made RetroArch#16769
• On-Screen notification widget: Add file names and Directory Titles RetroArch#16222 -- Online Updater -> Update Controller Profiles does not indicate where the file is extracted, or if retroarch fails to extract the archive
• (Input) Proper analog trigger support RetroArch#6920 -- "Settings -> Input -> RetroPad Binds -> Port 1 Controls -> Save Controller Profile" does not save "input_l2_axis" and "input_r2_axis" for L2/R2 analog triggers (pressure sensitive buttons). This affects PlayStation 2 controllers and later for example.

GNU/Linux

• linuxraw: "[Controller] Motion Sensors (0/0) not configured" error confusion RetroArch#16828

Appimage

I would be grateful if you could grant me permission to add labels to help ease the workload for the developers. What do you think?
