I'd like to use updateDVB to get spectrum scanning (sadly 6985's frontend doesn't seem to support getting constellation samples), but I don't want to switch my big home server to a random -rc kernel from a random guy just to get spectrum scanning support.
If I extract the additional APIs (ioctls) and related frontend driver extensions from updatelee's kernel into a patch set and submit a PR against your repository, will you accept such a PR?
It doesn't seem all that intrusive, which is why I don't understand why not just distribute a patched media tree instead of the whole kernel. And that's what I'd like to do with your source tree (to the benefit of others as well).
