Spaces in directory names are not supported

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Write in your .pom something like
    <properties>
        ...
        <gettext.dir>C:\Program Files\GnuWin32\bin</gettext.dir>
    </properties>
    and
            <plugin>
                <groupId>org.xnap.commons</groupId>
                <artifactId>maven-gettext-plugin</artifactId>
                <version>1.2.3</version>
                <executions>
                    <execution>
                        <goals>
                            <goal>merge</goal>
                            <goal>dist</goal>
                        </goals>
                    </execution>
                </executions>
                <configuration>
                    <poDirectory>${basedir}/src/main/po</poDirectory>
                    <targetBundle>de.upk.plugandfindwebarticles.Messages</targetBundle>
                    <encoding>CP1252</encoding>
                    <msgcatCmd>${gettext.dir}/msgcat.exe</msgcatCmd>

2. build your project

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: no errors

Instead:
