stupid bugs:
* with a large paste - ummm a @command number when in insert_mode are u insane???
* another bug - repeat after deleting a line deletes the wrong one! - possibly it deletes not the current but the last?
* not a bug, but directories should be auto completed with / at the end of the :ed!
* wrap around to the start of this document by pressing j on repeat, rendering is totally screwed up when it finishes, note: on a large terminal with small font
* new line creation on a long syntax highlighted document is far too slow
* when no syntax highlight is available why not draw the screen without it? then redraw again when actual synhl is done, and then when full doc is done
when using plain text the above just ain't needed
done stuff but to be looked at again later:
* cursor doesn't appear command (:)
* empty files on load should be warned as such in the status bar
* o still is broken wrt auto indent whereas cr works
* deleting a line via backspace results is totally messed up line caching - SOMETIMES
* completion doesn't add a / for a dir, thusly lib<tab>bu<tab> doesn't work
* horizontal split bar
* o doesn't appear to auto indent when in a plain text file
* q! on an already reverted buffer puts ruvi into an infinite loop
* need at the very least a md5 sum of the current buffer text in the edlog to prevent very stupid replays
* highlighting doesn't work for @docview2 (number in identifier?)
* i appears to do A when on final char in line???????
* sometimes undo/redo appears to duplicate lines on a changeset... really wierd bugs... need extra checkcs on the logging... think thats the only way to solve this problem right?
* ruvi can't cope at all with long lines anymore... maybe should wrap? or do the cheap and not allow? or... allow horiz scrolling?
there are still major undo/redo fuckups, this needs to be rethought - paranoid sanity checks need to be used
2dw, 2cw etc
release 0.4.12 :)
highlighting debug widget
optimisations:
waiting for u/ctrl-r takes too slow when key repeat kicks in
wonder why there are big pauses sometimes... gc and stuff maybe? ask neoneye...
store an md5 sum of buffer, and marshal out the highlighting information in a big single block - can be improved later on
diff logging:
an unnamed file doesn't have recovery! how to fix?
diff file gets very big. maybe when > 200kb should remove a load? - must be done atomically of couse... maybe difficult
meta stuff - maybe could use the idea about scripting vim and get some results using that?
maybe need to do assertions to make certain that undo is possible?
e.g, provably demonstrate that undo/redo keeps entire state for several tests?
in a manner thats not random... gonna be difficult...
editing with ruvi then vim then ruvi again means that the undo/redo stuff is obviously going to be fucked
this has to be fixed by storing sha1 sums or something but how to compute incrementally and fast?
need a message digest algm with the property that a line if its previous
value is known can be removed and added again does this exist?
diff logs in general are fucking huge, for example when moving something its a delete and an add.
the deletes could easily refer to the data used in the adds... could be more efficient of course
but this is a trivial optimisation once a line digest algm is in use...
the BUGS file log is already 250kb after just a few minutes editing... this is awful
major improvements to difflog format and flushing of old edits (maybe just 5 edit sessions back?)
from TODO
new setting should be added to do free movement (same keybindings as vim?)
selection doesn't show for starting spaces at start of selected line
after typing tabs on comment line backspace to remove tabs doesn't work, difficult one...
cw on a word then undo seems to first undo the delete and then put it back, it should be a single action
highlighting is wierd for $win32
searching should default to non regular expression mode and have a keybinding to switch to regexps...
qxBLUBq@@x with a selection linewise macros per line
:r! / :filter! with pipe through
:vsp
convert class browser thingy to a pure plugin
(apart from the dep on classstacks of course)
ruvi should make an unnamed swap file in the current directory if possible
X at start of line
