Faile to git clone

Hello, I try to instal the ferret and will start to study ferroelectric materials properties.

I have installed moose successfully. When i git clone the ferret, the internet fail to git clone. I tried to download the package and make it with gcc. but it seems that the make process is dependent on the git packages. Could anybody give an optional solution for installing this ferret.

I finally download the package and mannual make the package,when make the file, the error occured as following:

I use the command "git init" to make the project to be a git repository and then it make successfully.
