Added value Vector_layers fields?

I connected my database table with geometry to the tile server. Now I have added the name of each geometry as a property.
What is the added value of these properties? I can see them in the tilejson under vector_layers fields. I would expect I might be able to co-render these properties. But I'm not quite familiar with them yet.

I hope someone can provide me with an answer here
